Project Description:

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS), is the main institution of the Government of India, which complements the efforts of the State Governments in providing safe drinking water and sanitation to the rural masses of our country. Programs for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation have been under implementation ever since the inception of the first five-year plan. The Ministry is aiming at implementing a strong e-Governance system to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs run by it in order to achieve its vision and goals. The MDWS Enterprise Architecture framework defines the structure and operations of the MDWS in India and provides a methodology for development of all e-governance applications for the domain addressing all stakeholder concerns, bringing greater transparency and convergent delivery of services to the citizens, disclosure of information and social audit, improving internal management and efficiency of the various institutions involved in the Ministry. It gives a comprehensive view of the enterprise from different viewpoints which enables quick alignment of IT systems to its dynamic and ever evolving demands of business.
