Project Description:
Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administrators (LBSNAA) is the premier training institute for civil services in India. LBSNAA conducts various training modules for civil servants of different seniority. A common Foundation Course is held for the young entrants to the All India Services and other Central Services. This is followed by a professional training of the recruits of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and members of the Royal Bhutan Administrative Service. The Academy also conducts Mid-Career Training Program (MCTP) for members of the IAS and Induction Training program for officers promoted to the IAS from the State Civil Services. Alongside, workshops and seminars on policy issues are also conducted at the academy at regular intervals. Over the years the Academy has invested in IT to support its operations. The Academy implemented an ERP solution “SARGAM” to manage delivery of training, e-Office for official file management, CGHS applications for Medical Centre and Libsys for Library Management. Though some of these systems are fulfilling their respective objectives, the compound benefits for the organization have not been realized due to challenges of integration and interoperability. To create a fully integrated landscape supporting the end-to-end operations of the Academy, it decided to pursue an Enterprise Architecture (EA) led approach. Codified in India Enterprise Architecture (IndEA) Framework by Government of India, the EA approach to solution design leads to standardization, promotes reusability of existing components and provides agility to the organization to adapt to changing business requirements and advancements in technology.
